Teaching
I look forward to the privilege of teaching and mentoring students and enjoy being a part of a department that values students and the art of teaching. Teaching is my chance to add to business and information systems management by producing well-equipped analysts, managers, and ultimately leaders. I enjoy teaching project management, systems analysis and design, proper requirements gathering, and IT organizational behavior. I will present knowledge to students in a variety of ways including simulations, case studies, real world stories from my corporate America experiences, and even research observation opportunities. Between teaching and conducting research in learning, I have learned that it is important to test for learning in a variety of ways to cater to differences in learning. I have also participated in various educational projects outside of the university environment to obtain a diverse body of experiences to assist in the classroom. During my time as a PhD student I have participated in high school college recruitment fairs, been invited to speak to youth on a workshop I created “Secrets of the Successful College Student”, and taught PowerPoint classes at a career center in my community. In every teaching opportunity I am sure to relate to real world experience gained from my time in corporate America. In sum, I encourage every one of my students to strive for the leader within and help them reach their goals through motivation and support.
